Guys, is there a way for me to "lock-in" a position for my players? For example, I want 3B Nakashima to only play 3B. I don't want him used at any other position. Is it possible to do that? If so, can someone walk me through the process?

Go to player tab and it's on settings. Not sure exact terminology. But you can force start them a t a position.

Yes Go to the player's profile screen. Pull down the available actions and click on Set Game Strategy.
On the left side you will see under Depth Chart Settings you will see Force Start / Use at Position. Choose where you want to play him and lock him in.

In the upper right-hand corner of the player view, select Available Actions >> Set Game Strategy.
The Force Start/Use at Position option (on the left) enables you to specify a position.
Also, note that in the roster strategy settings area (on the right) you may lock a player to the current level.

Thanks fellow GMs! I knew it had to be there somewhere! Some of my guys SHOULD NOT be playing different positions. They need to stick to their strengths! Thanks again.

The lock position option is also useful if you want a player to gain experience at a new position.

The lock position option is also useful if you want a player to gain experience at a new position. So a guy who has good infield skills (range, arm, double play, etc) but is showing as just a 2B (only position he plays) could learn to play SS or 3B? Is it better to have him learn it at AAA or if he has the infield skill set would he be likely to make a smooth transition? Or is it completely random?

In order for a player to learn a position, the best way you can give them 'experience' is by playing them in that position(s). Playing them at the position in Spring Training is the best time to receive the biggest gains, in my experience. It isn't random, but a player can gain significant gains at a position if their intelligence/work ethic are high or very high. Players who are low to very low may take longer/may not learn the position at all. So base each example separate from others. Hope that helps, Peter!
