Sorry for the delay. I was not able to get the email verification working on the draft lottery website. The results are in. See before and after screenshots attached. Pick 1 : Royals (had 21 balls) Pick 2 : Cubs (had 25 balls) Pick 3 : Tigers (had 11 balls) Pick 4 : Expos (Comp Locked) Pick 5 : Expos (had 16 balls) Pick 6 : Mariners (had 3 balls) Pick 7 : Diamondbacks (had 6 balls) Pick 8 : Nationals (had 4 balls) Pick 9 : Cardinals (had 8 balls) Pick 10: White Sox (had 5 balls) Pick 11: White Sox (Comp Locked) Pick 12: Rockies (had 1 ball) Pretty crazy that we will have two sets of back to back picks in the first round. Grats to Mariners on the big jump.

Believe it or not Peter..it happens a lot to the teams with the most chances to get the top pick.

VIVIDLY remember dropping from #1 to #5 in my second year. Grrr! Still have nightmares! The worst is when you TRADE your first round (like a #4,5,6) and then it bumps to the top. You start talking to yourself! ( And answering)! Don't worry, your pick is a lock stud!!!

Shame is that KC is likely to pick the pitcher they should have signed last year...

Interestingly enough that year the Rockies ended up getting the first pick and selected Dave Badenho 1st overall. Dave Badenho, COL | Shawn Palmer, LAA | 160 games | 155 games | 69 wins | 55 wins | 46 losses | 50 losses | 977.3 ip | 854.7 ip | 890 k | 891 k | 3.57 ERA | 3.64 ERA | 1.25 WHIP | 1.25 WHIP | 19.2 WAR | 19.8 WAR |

Chris Frazier (1B) went 3rd overall to Oakland and Wilton Ayala (RF) went 4th to Detroit. Frazier now players for Minnesota and is destined to be a journeyman around the league. Ayala has played the last three seasons in Pittsburgh. Needless to say, sometimes it sucks to fall but you end up with the best player anyways.

PALMER is a good one for and is (sorry, was ) a nice bookend for me with BROWN in LA. It's a drag to drop, but you still get an exceptional pick 99.9% of the time.
