More light, off-season reading that I hope is of interest as it relates to our league vs the real thing... A challenge we all face in PBL (or any league) is how we approach our payroll depending on market size and financial situation. Here's another one of those types of stories from the real world. It should be, in my opinion, a challenge. And the game should reflect stuff like this a lot better. A MACHADO should be advised by his agent to walk through his Arbs, and build the ever-increasing rewards, then should hold out for a MASSIVE payoff when he becomes eligible for it. AND, should he not, then the pay day should be EVEN more humongous to reflect giving up any sort of financial leverage he has. A smaller market team should simply have to deal with that. The larger market vultures should price the player out of the stratosphere and, in turn, potentially cause themselves an entirely different set of headaches. www.espn.com/blog/buster-olney/insider/post?id=15459The game will eventually catch up to this..........I, for one, hope!
