What happened there Twins? Two quality first round picks, one that you've lost for good.

Maybe he didnt have the money? It's just a question to the Twins GM. I'd like to see what the answer is from him.

If it was just a question to him, a PM would work. Otherwise I think its an Interesting question to discuss.
If you didn't have the money why not pick a player who cost less OR trade the pick away for something? Doesn't make sense to just give it up. Especially a pick that will be forfeited.

I agree that it's a good discussion but I wanted to give him a chance to answer before we delve into the hypotheticals of why the players went unsigned. I have similar questions to the ones you brought up Derek.

Basically the player wanted 500K more than I could afford and in my past experiences I've never had trouble offering a draftee 500K less and them not accepting. Well needless to say, he wanted the full amount and wouldn't budge. So yeah I probably could have picked someone cheaper and been fine but like I said I didn't think offering him less would've been an issue.

To Derek's point... About drafting a player whos demands are lower... Ive had players say they want $2 million. Then after they are drafted with a top 5 pick ask for $8.5 million. So the player demands can change from April until the June/July draft.

That sucks, so was it like the situation Anthony was describing?

That sucks, so was it like the situation Anthony was describing? Yes exactly like that. Thats the one downfall of drafting so early with online leagues.
