I remember when rob was here he would sim for commish whenever he wasn't available or wasn't going to be available for a while... Anyway one of us could help out and get sims moving whenever the commish is unavailable? Im willing to do it if i received proper instructions on how to do it all. If some1 else knows how to do it and is willing by all means take the reigns...Im not saying this person sims everynight but if the commish is out 2 3 4 nights and gives us the ok, we can help get things moving for him...Im not complaining about the time we've been taking off, obviously commish is dealing with some serious personal issues so just want to see if theres any way one of us can help out take the burden off him while he's dealing with family life.

I don't have the access or the knowledge to run sims. I think the only other GM that I remember seeing run sims for Derek was the Yankees who is gone now. Maybe the Anthony could?
I do know that running the PBL is not free and we do not have to pay league dues. You can always make a donation through paypal to Derek.bobola@gmail.com if you find a couple extra bucks in your pocket.

I've done a few times. I think the commish tries to avoid it though as much as possible to avoid mess ups.

I took over SBL from Rob and have been running it for 2 seasons now. So if needed I can sim for Derek to take some stuff off of his plate. I know David (Angels) runs a league that im also in. Thomas (White Sox) has ran sims before as well.
Problem is no one other than Derek has commish rights in game. (rob still may, not sure.)

Maybe when hes back he can pick some1 capable to give commissoner rights to for future instances. These sims would only be done if he says it's cool and only in times like these when the time off gets excessive

Hey Anthony this is completely off topic but do you have an opening in the SBL i would love to get in if so, and also the Tigers GM has some simming experience he is Co-Commish on the MLSB

can we give this some serious thought? I think we should. It's always a good practice to have contingency plans and backup support to ensure processes remain on track. I think designating an assistant commish is a good idea. Per the sign-in screen, Rob, formerly of the Yankees, still has Commish rights. Anthony, David, and Tomas have been mentioned as current GM's who already know the process. I live in Portland, so given the three hour time difference I could step in as a backup to run a late night - eastern time - sim if Derek can not do so. I would need to learn the process, but my guess is that I can do it. I imagine the process is pretty straightforward. Anyway, if called upon I am willing to help. I think it is important that we ensure the league keeps rolling along. By delegating one or more responsibilities to a GM or a couple GM's, we should be able to do so while easing the burden currently shouldered by Derek. Involving additional individuals always complicates an overall process, but with only two or three GM's - including Derek - with responsibilities, we should be able to manage and control it. Those are my thoughts.

My thoughts are. .. this is all immaterial until we get Derek on board. He's clearly busy enough right now that I hope he will consider this. Derek?

I just really feel were coming to the end. I may be wrong and I hope I'm wrong but it doesn't seem like Dereks heart is in it anymore

I absolutely don't think that is the case - I'm in this league for 3 (real) years now ... Derek has a job that often does not allow him to sim, but the PBL is his life - and helps him ease the stress he has with his business.
Derek is pretty open when it comes to personal issues - and unless Derek says something different, we all should assume that everything is okay
