1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
I predicted an NL West win with wins less than 105, which is what happened. The pitching carried us all season with timely hitting when needed. Low scoring games are truly a stressful way to win, but a win is a win.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
The plan was completely dependent on what Lorenzo Hernandez and Jim King were going to do with their player opt-outs. Well, Hernandez opted out, while King accepted his remaining years. Honestly, it would have been easier if they both decided the same thing, but when I looked at the catcher market and what Hernandez was asking, $20.8M per year seemed like what he would get in free agency. Once he signed, it was all about fixing some weaknesses, namely defense (John Howe moving to RF, Seth Alexander at SS), adding some power against lefties (Mel Wolfe) and another left handed arm (Cesar Cabral).
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
Best in the west, no matter how bloated and grey we are upon the throne. But truthfully, we don't rely on power and runs, but uses its pitcher park to keep other's power bats in the park.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expectations, what most likely went wrong?
Letting Mike Aitkenhead's power bat go with no equivalent run producer added. This is a calculated risk to sacrifice some runs so that John Howe can return to his natural Gold Glove position in RF. We are betting on lowering pitcher's BABIP (which have been sky high the past 2 seasons) and winning the close games.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
This is a tough one, because I don't think I can admit we might not win the division. The writing is on the wall and after a certain former Brewer joined the division, I instantly regretted letting my power hitting outfielder go.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
I'm assuming we all would agree the obvious lineup and pitching tabs are important. In no particular order: the budget screens, especially the ticket prices and the controlled budgets, the team chemistry screen and the waiver wire.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
Not so much what I got to witness, but the one that I almost got to witness was White Sox Phil Humber's perfect game in 2012. We traveled cross country to Seattle to see the Sox play there and we ended up going to the game before this one.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
Let's go with the Mets triumphing over the returning Astros in 6 games.

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
Mostly as expected. I planned on making the playoffs and after a very shaky start and crappy finish we eked it out
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
SS was a weak point for us. I didn’t want to give Travis Olson his 15+Mil a year for 5 year salary request last year, so I started the year with a defensive stud that couldn’t buy a hit then tried some replacement level players that were OK and finally settled on one of my young middle infielders to finish our the year. So I needed an upgrade at SS this year. I traded for José Cabral (I like to refer to him as Jim Chesney 2.0) from Miami to play SS. If he can play solid D and provide a bit more offence and get on base then I will be happy. I also wanted to get a bit more offense out of LF so I traded for Ernesto Herrera from the Blue Jays. I think he will do well in TB.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
Good offense, good pitching and good defense is what I look for. We are built to play at home and be competitive on the road. No, we are not a juggernaut in any category but I am just looking to be competitive.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expectations, what most likely went wrong?
Biggest risk is that Cabral really sucks and Herrera can’t play average D. I do have backup plans if that happens though. Having to play against each of the AL South teams for 14 games a year simply sucks and makes getting to the playoffs so much harder.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
Any of the 4 teams. For the second year in a row both WC teams come from the AL South. To my knowledge both WC coming from the same division for 2 years in a row has never happened before.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
Financial page and the waiver wire
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
Been to several Red Sox playoff games…sadly I can’t even remember what games they were and no I wasn’t drinking at any of them. I think one of them was game 3 vs yankees in 2003. I do remember being at the infamous Fake Spike Game (Dolphins vs Jets in 1994). That game pissed me off so bad hence why I remember it.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
A team from the AL south Vs. Mil. AL South in 6 games.

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
Atl under performed all year but did make the playoffs only to get bounced in the first round - I didn't add enough power and Pitching did not perform the way it should have.
KC - Had a big drop in wins from .642 down to just over .500 - this has some to do with selling pitching for money reasons and this division is crazy.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
I have always built my teams Pitching and Defense first (I'm old school) with this Royals team I want to switch that to Offense - pure attack. I traded for the reigning MVP by selling my hole draft pretty much and signing a right handed bat in the outfield to help platoon some.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
We are Power then Power then maybe some more Power - we have one person in our starting lineup with less than a 7 in power and he is my leadoff hitter. 6 out of my 9 starters have an 8 or higher power rating. This line up is special and we will be chasing HR records.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expectations, what most likely went wrong?
Not improving Pitching - we are going to try and outscore teams but in the division they can all score and have better Pitching than we do - I just have to hope my bats are that much better.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
Its a toss up really but got to give the node to the Astros Champs are the Champs
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
Waiver wire, Team Chemistry and its not a screen more of a filter but I like adding Local and National Popularity and Personality traits to ratings so if I need a leader or want to avoid someone that is a problem.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
I have seen a lot but the best was the 2019 AFC Divisional Game Chiefs Vs. Texans 24 point come back - I have been to IDK 30 + Chiefs games and never felt Arrowhead like that only followed by the 10 point comeback vs the Titans.
I went to 2 of the World Series games the year the Royals won and saw Mark McGuire and Sammy battle for the homerun record 3 times that year - I went to 3 Jordan games.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
Champs are the Champs Astro's in 6 over (The NL is so open) Milwaukee

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
The Chart projected Cleveland to be a .500 ball club. By April 20th Cleveland had lost 10 WAR of SP. They still managed to squeeze by a great Detroit team into the playoffs. Cleveland promptly lost an additional 7 WAR of offense to injury. We got Alfredo Sanchez back, who did a helluva job for less than $7,000,000 a start. (Don't try that at home boys and girls.) With a team held together by baling wire, old chewing gum and dog slobber, the Tribe battled its way to the LCS to face eventual champion Houston. Cleveland set what should be an untouchable PBL playoff record by scoring four runs in five LCS games. So it was a typical Cleveland season.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
Plan... Plan... Plaaaannnn... I knew we had to keep Kip Blue. (His first name really is Kipyard. His mother loved Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. He got off easy all things considered. "Pitching for Cleveland, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi Blue, 'The Mongoose.'") Signing Blue didn't go according to plan, but we kept him in Cleveland. We wanted to shore up 1B and DH, which we did. And after holding a scary Houston club to under two runs a game in the last four of the LCS, we went out and made the defense better.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
We have a cohesive group of ballplayers who enjoy playing together and who expect to win. Nobody minds that Carlos Rocha cheats at cards, and Carlos doesn't mind when Silas Ward breaks into his locker and steals everyone's money back. (I hope I didn't just tell Carlos something he didn't know.)
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expections, what most likely went wrong?
Like every GM, injuries scare the willies out of me. We have a few key players we can't afford to lose. Of course we couldn't afford to lose them last year either. A second risk is other AL Central teams could be better than Cleveland.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
Cleveland will win the AL Central, though it will probably take another play-in game to do it.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
Any screen where I can sort players, my own or all of PBL, with custom filters.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
Sitting behind the Bucks bench when Milwaukee (with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the "Big O" Oscar Robertson, Bobby Dandridge and Lucius "The Rabbit" Allen) beat the San Francisco Warriors (Nate Thurmond and Jerry Lucas) at the University of Wisconsin Field House in the Western Conference Semifinals, 1971. The Bucks went on to win their only NBA Championship.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
It's hard to pick against those two powerhouses, Houston and Milwaukee. Duane Hansen will hit the decisive home run for the Brewers in Game 6.

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
Pretty much exactly as expected, including not winning the World Series.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
To move Salazar and White for future value to clear room for Yang Siu.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
I honestly feel like we're a rebuilding low-budget team . . . except that we're awesome. We keep cutting costs and trying to get younger, even as our budget increases and our guys get better.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expections, what most likely went wrong?
Injuries are always the biggest risk. My rotation is a little thin; if I get hit hard in that area I could be fairly vulnerable.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
Me. Keepin' it real.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
The 'Players' tab where I export the ratings from the game to my sheet. Behind that . . . the PBL History page. I gain an enormous amount of joy from that. And the StatsPlus Player Development page, even though it's not in OOTP.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
Got beaned by a foul ball once, though I can't say that I 'witnessed' it. I watched the A's come from four-down in Fenway to win maybe 15 years ago . . . pretty esoteric memory.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
The AL South and I. Even with my trades, I still think I'm the best team in the NL. Could be wrong. Brewers in 6.

Got beaned by a foul ball once, though I can't say that I 'witnessed' it.Well, folks, don't know what I did here. I apologize for gumming up this page. Anyone who knows how, feel free to delete the extra post(s). I can't figure it out. Just wanted to say I was there when sansterre got beaned by the foul ball. I definitely witnessed it. It is decidedly NOT one of the coolest sports moments I got to witness live. It's one of those bad memories that replay in slow motion.

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
Exceeded expectations as much as a team could. We won the World Series. I thought we'd be competitive, but honestly didn't think we'd get to the WS, let alone win it.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
Well, if any opportunity presented itself to improve the team, we would try and make it happen, but right now we have a pretty good pipeline of players coming up. There's a couple I wish were more ready than others, but we like our depth players a lot too. Ultimately, our plan is pretty conservative.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
"Versatility" is our identity. If we can change our approach and shift around and have players who can move around to adjust to the season then that is where our identity sits.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expections, what most likely went wrong?
Our biggest risk is not being as aggressive in the off season as we could have and relying on a few guys to be ready to come up to the PBL at some point in the regular season. If we fall short of expectations, it will mostly likely be due to injuries, which we already are taking a hit on. Our catcher Raul Lopez is gone for the season. His defense is great and will be missed and our young star centerfielder, Alejandro Garcia, is out until September. 2 huge losses to take before the season even starts.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
I'm gonna say KC Royals and I think it all hinges on Shane Foster. If that dude pitches as good as he can, then with their bullpen and offense, I really think they can take the division.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
Rosters & Transactions - I'm a minors micro manager. Player Search - Great way to look at the league as a whole, position by position, and gauge what the league is deep in. Finances & Salary - 2 screens but back and forth, these 2 are key to prepare your extensions and what you may need to do now to avoid something else later or how to structure extensions. Gotta keep finances correct as much as you can to keep a team winning.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
I wish I had a really cool sports moment. Best I have is a celebrity golf charity event. The guy running it was gonna introduce me to Bill Cowher. We waited on hole number 10 because he was gonna be approaching it soon. He drove up in his cart to tee off area (I don't know golf). My connection said, he should come over to meet me after he tee's off. I could tell he was already pissed. His chin was sticking out. I knew that look. He got out of the cart. Pulled out a driver. Tee'd off. Watched his ball land. Then he yelled, "God dammit." He was enraged. Spit came out of his mouth. He shoved his driver in his bag, hopped in his cart, and wheeled off like a bat out of hell. The guy who was supposed to introduce me to him apologized to me and said that he is supposed to say hi to people and meet them since it is a charity event. I told him no apology necessary and this was better then meeting him. I saw the real Bill Cowher in action, just as competitive and crazy as he was in football. I was very happy. I did get to meet him and his now deceased wife later in the evening finally. It was quick though.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
Colorado Rockies beat the Milwaukee Brewers in 6.

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
Extremely disappointing season as I had hoped to get to .500 last season. The reason for the disappointment was the pitching which for the first 3 months of was historically bad
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
I wanted to make a big splash in free agency, but after my top two targets went off the board I had to "settle for" Edgar Salazar.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
We are a young team that plays great defense and has a don't strikeout approach at the plate. Hoping that veteran acquisition's Hal Young and Noel King can provide us some stability to get us moving in the right direction.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expectations, what most likely went wrong?
Other than the signing of often injured Salazar, I have stressed defense and the bottom third of my lineup C's-Francisco Garcia/Orlando Gonzales , 3B-Jeremy Conl and 2B-Jorge Martinez could be a huge black hole- as all of those players could easily bat under .200
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
I expect to watch another competitive 3 team race playout above me- but in the end I predict the Nationals will come out on top.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
The Players- Entire Organization View with customized categories and filters. Front Office- Accounting and this season I plan to spend more time on the Game Strategy screens.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live? Mine is an almost- I had tickets to the David Cone perfect game but didn't go. Also I was crushed leaving Fenway as the Yankees beat the Red Sox 19-8 in game 3 of the 2004 ALCS. Of course that was the last game the Red Sox lost that season.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games. Nationals win it over the Astros Rangers Rockies no the Tigers in 6

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
We exceeded expectations in winning 94 games and by consensus were very unlucky not to make the playoffs. Kenzaburo Sato won the MVP award without ever going into prolonged hot streaks or slumps - he is just consistently good and posted the quietest 34/43 season I've ever seen. The pitching held up although benefitted from one of the best defenses in PBL history with a combined 85.3 ZR and 5 players getting gold gloves.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
The plan was to try and pick up some pitching as despite us ranking 2nd in ERA this was boosted by the defense. Like others we entered the Anibal Gabriel auction but ended up being priced out. We picked up veteran Sam Banfield but by and large the band is back together for another tour.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
We're defined by our defense first and foremost. When I took the team over we had a queue of players wanting to play DH as they didn't appreciate what a glove was for but these have been gradually shipped out.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expectations, what most likely went wrong?
Finances. We face a crunch at some point as the two stars on offense and pitching (Sato and Vasquez) need to get paid at some point and we have little wriggle room. if we fall short it will be because the pitching gets found out and the defense can't dig them out of the holes every day.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
The Rockies. Class of the division and few, if any, weak spots. I think we've given them a fright the last couple of seasons but in truth I feel we lack the edge to finally get past them.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
The Team finances and salary screens to work out how we can make 3+2=4. Also I like tinkering with the minors so going into each of the systems, moving players around between positions, to attempt to develop them.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live? Being a Brit I went to both the Yankees-Red Sox games in London in 2019.As a Yankees fan seeing them in my own backyard was a dream come true. The main memory was the first game in 93 degree heat (practically unheard of in the UK) and seeing the score tied at 6-6....after one inning. In the end the game was the second longest 9 inning game in MLB history.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games. Brewers over whoever wins the AL South (perm one from four) in 6 games.

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened? Mets won 90 games last season somehow, our OBP as a team was terrible. How we won 90 games I don't know. Mets pitching staff was what carried the team....I like our pitching staff, I just hope they can do it again this season.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out? We added RF-DH M. Aitkenhead, 2B M. Valentin, 1B-2B M. Robles & C E. Barthold, we will have to see how this plays out
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you? We are looking for a good balance of power, obp, & play good D with our good pitching staff
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expections, what most likely went wrong? Signing FA 2B M. Valentin, if he come in and is a headcase, Mets will cut his ass...we will have a eye on him for sure
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season? I think the Mets have a good balanced team, but we will see
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP? Front Office- Accounting - Top prospect listings for all teams & BNN
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live? On March 10th 1986 I was at the game watching Boston Celtics Larry Bird score 50 points against the Dallas Mavericks (in Dallas), Mavs won 116 to 115 but Larry Bird was the best player I have ever seen....1986 Boston Celtics won the NBA championship
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games. Houston Astros over the San Francisco Giants in 6 games

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
Awful. Was hoping for .500 and anything that could go wrong seemly did.
I honestly thought my team was ready to take a step up. I added a couple Vet SPs and ended up falling flat on my face. Lesson learned for sure. 😐
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
Gutting the team of older Vets and focusing more on giving playing time to guys who could hopefully progress in the seasons to come. I believe I did that.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
Young with a focus on good Def with upside.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expections, what most likely went wrong?
I acquired a handful of draft picks so I’m hoping for a decent draft class.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
It’s Tim’s ( SF ) turn but Rich ( SD ) won’t be easy to knock off for sure.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
Financial page & prospect listing
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
I got to see UT’s Ricky Williams run all over OU in the Red River Shootout at the old cotton bowl.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
Mets & TB. Mets in 6.

1. How did your team perform compared to your expectations in 2057? What happened?
Last year's expectation was elite hitting, average pitching, and hopefully a crack at the Brewers in the playoffs. We ended up with elite hitting, pretty good pitching, and a flame-out in the NLDS. Despite the short playoff appearance I think we were second in the league in WAR, so I'm pretty happy with how things went.
2. What was your plan going into this offseason? How did it play out?
We knew we had everyone of consequence from last year's squad under contract for this year, so it was a fairly modest plan of getting some LHP hitting platoon OFs, and moving some excess for prospects and draft capital. Free agent Bruce Edwards and prospect John McGee should fill the platoon roles, and despite not moving 2B Oscar Scott we made a few moves to improve the farm system.
3. What is your team's identity? What kind of team are you?
We subscribe to the Earl Weaver theory that the best form of offense is the three run homer, and we do it well. The 2057 Nationals hit more HRs than any team in NL history. The only team within 25 of their total was the 2056 Nationals. It wasn't really a conscious effort on my part to make that happen, but pretty much everyone on the roster is capable of hitting at least 20 a year.
4. What is your biggest risk this season? If you fall short of expectations, what most likely went wrong?
I could see the rotation taking a step back. Julian Robles' move to the pen is sort of already factored in (he we near replacement level in the rotation last year), but Alonso Bravo is a fragile, HR-prone 33 y/o. Jose Garcia is on the wrong side of 30 too, Ismael Garcia is fragile, and Mike Hernandez is going to miss most of the year and might not be the same post-injury. There's prospects in the system that can fill in, but none are known quantities yet, so if this all falls apart we'll probably be playing a lot of 10-8 games.
5. Who do you predict will win your division this season?
Atlanta and Miami are legitimate threats, but I think we have the firepower to take it again.
6. In your opinion, what are two or three of the most important screens in OOTP?
Pitching/Lineups obviously, as well as Finances/Salary as people have said. I'll throw in the new Prospect Pipeline screen because despite OSA not being great at ranking prospects it's a good overview of what's in your system, and who you can target in other teams' systems in a trade.
7. What is the coolest sports moment you got to witness live?
2015 Big XII basketball tournament. Iowa State comes back from double digit deficits in all three games to take the title, including a win over Texas where they never led until after the buzzer. Honorable mention to Game 2 of the 2015 Cubs-Cardinals NLDS.
8. Predict the PBL 2058 World Series. Teams, winner and number of games.
I'll go with the Giants breaking through to beat the Rockies in 7. The last time I picked the Giants here they flopped pretty hard though, so maybe I'm just trying to jinx another NL contender.
