1. What was your main goal this offseason?
Quite simply to get a decent LF. Has been a challenge the past few years for me
2. Did you accomplish it?
Signed Hadde Lieder. Hoping for at least a 3.0 WAR season from him.
3. Who are you going to miss the most off of last years team?
Not Randolph Cashmann. The guy can be a BEAST when healthy, but he is NEVER healthy.
4. Who is your top prospect, and is he going to be a Hall of Famer?
Probably RF Pedro Valentín. A DURABLE player with power speed and decent defense. If his contact can come up another tick I think he may be something special.
5. Who is the best player you ever had on your team?
Likely Terrence 'The Hoosier Thunderbolt' Henderson. Hit his 400 HR last season. I would like him to retire as part of the Rays.
6. Are you going to make the playoffs this season?
Yes, Taking back the AL south
7. What is your biggest OOTP pet peeve?
Other GMs that constantly whine about stupid things... and Stupid Owner demands
8. PBL World Series prediction. Who is playing and who is winning?
Rockies over the Pirates 4-2

1. What was your main goal this offseason?
This is going to be a “sorting” year, where all the fringy AAA guys I have get to discover if they can make it in the majors. So, to aid that I wanted to acquire cheap, young talent that could be potentially useful in the next 3-4 seasons. And improve our defense while doing it, which was pretty weak the last couple seasons and used to be a huge part of my winning teams.
2. Did you accomplish it?
I think so. We got a huge upgrade in defense at in the infield with our signing of 3B Henry Clerq to a whopping 3.2M contract for 2 years. Clerq is youngish (28), cheap (1.6M/year) and has won the AL 3B Gold Glove 3 years straight. Sure, he is a career .200 hitter, hence the cheap part. Raiding the pantry of teams through the Rule V draft also got us a couple of intriguing arms in SP Clint Ellis from the Brewers and SP Muneyaki “Nitro” Motsuzuki. Are they ready for the majors? Nope. Will they pitch there anyway? Yup. Will it destroy their development? We’ll see.
3. Who are you going to miss the most off of last years team?
I traded nearly everyone of value at the trade deadline, and none of them are really jumping out at me. I think I will miss dreaming of Jesus Gonzalez’s potential. He’s still teasing people with that 8 power potential that he knows he’s too lazy to ever achieve.
4. Who is your top prospect, and is he going to be a Hall of Famer?
I am hoping SP Carlos Hernandez is our future ace and I don’t believe he will be a Hall of Famer though. He’ll probably have his 1st full season at age 25, which makes it harder to accumulate the numbers to get in the hall and he doesn't have the super talent of your Orlando Perez's.
5. Who is the best player you ever had on your team?
I haven’t really had any true superstars during my Philly era. I would say probably OF Millard Nosworthy, who won 2 NL MVP’s with us and is still crushing HR in Boston.

Hahahahahahaha, Good one.
7. What is your biggest OOTP pet peeve?
How much it crashes and gives me constant issues, especially in online leagues. I am currently dealing with the fact that if I click on any player in the minors in the PBL, the game crashes. My computer is old, so this is probably partially my fault.
8. PBL World Series prediction. Who is playing and who is winning?
Dodgers vs Orioles, Dodgers in 6.

On the eve of Spring Training, it's time for GM's all over the league to step up to the microphone, and spill the beans!
1. What was your main goal this offseason? The original plan was to add some pieces and start the journey towards .500, but nothing fit. So the timeline changed and we are building around our 20-22 year old bats and trying to get things lined up in hopes that they all pop together. 2. Did you accomplish it? Mostly, still some work to do though. 3. Who are you going to miss the most off of last years team? Roberto Ramos. Good young arm, but wasn't helping our goals this year and probably would need very real money by the time we are trying to battle. 4. Who is your top prospect, and is he going to be a Hall of Famer? I'd say Kachmar, with Wilson and Contreras close behind, hopefully the all play up,to their HOF talent levels. 5. Who is the best player you ever had on your team? Since I've run the team, there's nobody worst mentioning. 6. Are you going to make the playoffs this season? 0% 7. What is your biggest OOTP pet peeve? None, with injuries tweaked. 8. PBL World Series prediction. Who is playing and who is winning? Pirates over Indians

1. What was your main goal this offseason? Find some bats to replace Raymond Harrington's production and fill the gap at 1B.
2. Did you accomplish it? Not really. We brought Greg Lamour on board for a two year deal, but we weren't as active on the trading blocks as we should've been, and the offense may suffer for it.
3. Who are you going to miss the most off of last years team? See 1. Harrington was 15 years past his prime, but he could still swing the stick. Borderline HOFer Warren Smith also retired. We sent him out with a W in his final appearance, which happened to be on his 41st birthday.
4. Who is your top prospect, and is he going to be a Hall of Famer? SP Pedro Mulert is my top rated prospect, though I don't think he's HOF caliber. SP Julian Robles has the raw potential (10/8/7), but expecting a 19 year old pitcher to reach his ceiling is asking for trouble.
5. Who is the best player you ever had on your team? Raymond Harrington's the biggest star we've ever had, but we only had the mid-40's version. Robin Johnson's the best player we've had/have playing for us.
6. Are you going to make the playoffs this season? The NL South is going to be brutal this year with Atlanta making a push and Carolina looking much improved. Still, I think we make it if our young pitching can contribute. This is basically the year where the "pay vets to hold down the fort until SP prospects develop" strategy overlaps with us actually having developed SP prospects.
7. What is your biggest OOTP pet peeve? I guess there's some ratings related things that bug me, but those are just nitpicks.
8. PBL World Series prediction. Who is playing and who is winning? Pittsburgh over Colorado.

1. What was your main goal this offseason?
Entering the off-season, we had three goals: a) upgrade the SS position; b) obtain an additional, quality SP; and, c) add quality depth in the bullpen.
2. Did you accomplish it?
Yes, we believe we strengthened the team in each of the areas cited above.
First, we traded for 26 year-old IF Minoru Tsuji. Although Tsuji unproven at the PBL level, he is an incredibly skilled fielder with tremendous range. Our pitchers should rest easy knowing that Tsuji could make a brilliant catch or turn an amazing double play at any moment. The primary question is whether he can hit PBL pitching well enough to play every day. He does have blazing speed on the bases and he is patient at the plate. We hope he is productive enough betting 9th to help set up top-of-the-order hitters.
Second, we signed free agent, veteran SP Bob Phillips to a low-risk, three year contract that includes two team options. Phillips, now 39 years old, still can be a solid contributor who can add depth to the rotation. The question is his health. We anticipate that he will miss some starts due to injury, but hopefully he will remain healthy enough to start 20-25 games for us this season.
Third, we signed RP Antonio Carrasco, a 23 year old free agent who hails from the Dominican Republic. Admittedly, the compensation and length of the contract are more than we would have preferred. However, this was a risk we felt we had to take to shore up the bullpen. The unfortunate, career-ending injury suffered by Tekkan Kokawa stunned the front office team. Kokawa was very talented and only 26 years old. We also parted ways with three relievers each of whom missed significant time last season due to injury. We felt the Carrasco contract was a risk needed to take. The fact that our owner is happy enough with our financial management to increase our budget - and project another, significant increase for next year - is a definite plus. Also, our fans are so excited that despite increases in ticket prices they keep packing AT&T Park with near capacity crowds. We are eager to see how Carrasco and NL Reliever of the Year Jason Frye perform as the shut-down tandem in the late innings. Something like Ryan Schneider and Danny Winters of the mid-'30s, perhaps? We hope so.
3. Who are you going to miss the most off of last years team?
We are going to miss P John Ayotte. Ayotte was a 2035 1st round pick who compiled a 44-31 record for us, mostly in a starting role. He missed most of last season, however, nursing several, arm-related injuries. Given that he was recuperating from elbow surgery last fall, we elected not to meet his contract demands. We are pleased that the Oakland A's were able to sign him to a contract. Ayotte doesn't even need to relocate his family! We hope to compete against him later this season.
4. Who is your top prospect, and is he going to be a Hall of Famer?
Carrasco, a rookie, has to be considered our top prospect. He is ready to produce at the PBL level. No, even if he has an outstanding career I doubt he will be enshrined into the HOF.
The top minor-leaguer in our organization right now is 3B Greg Thomas. Thomas is penciled in as the replacement for veteran Rob McCoy when McCoy decides to hang up the spikes. We would like to promote Thomas to the bigs, but our plan is to be patient and first give him a year to develop his skills while playing for AAA Fresno. Thomas also could have an outstanding career, but I doubt it will warrant induction into the HOF.
5. Who is the best player you ever had on your team?
Unquestionably, C Jose Rivera was the best player to play for us. He was a 3rd round pick out of high school who blossomed in our organization. During the five, full years he played for the Giants, he was an offensive force. His best years have been realized while playing for the Marlins, but he remains a fan favorite in the Bay Area. We look forward to the opportunity to cast a HOF vote for him.
6. Are you going to make the playoffs this season?
Yes. One of these years we might even win the NL West before, hopefully, finally having an opportunity to compete in the World Series.
7. What is your biggest OOTP pet peeve?
The AI-manager seems to do a decent job of juggling lineups when starting players rest. However, it sucks when inserting a reserve to take the place of an injured player. For example, it pisses me off when I see a light-hitting, back-up player batting in the heart of the order. OOTP should improve the logic used to adjust lineups when players suffer DTD or more extensive injuries.
8. PBL World Series prediction. Who is playing and who is winning?
Could this be our lucky year? How much fun would it be to play in a Bay Area series?
What the heck...
I pick the San Francisco Giants to top the Oakland A's in seven games.
