1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors? I was expecting us to come in around .500, probably a little under last year. We exceeded that by having a great year and coming up a game short of tying for the last wild card in a division where all the other teams made the playoffs. I think the key factors were getting good years out of a handful of veterans near the end of their careers, decent pitching and good defense.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? My main goals were to replace the players we were losing and to strengthen the rotation. I think right now those goals were accomplished. I made some trades to strengthen the rotation. And in our big free agent move we brought in Fernando González on a one year deal to replace 2B José Contreras, my thought there is we might lose some output with the bat but I'm hoping Fernando's defense will makeup for that. I'm excited to see how pairing him with 2061 gold glove shortstop Christian Gibbons will impact our run prevention.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why? I'm expecting a decrease in home runs. Having your 2B hit 40 home runs and losing that will probably have an impact. We also lost future hall of fame power hitters José Vera and Carl Holmes. We did bring in outfielders Eli Hickman and Bill Smith who I expect to hit well but not make up for the lost power production of Contreras, Vera and Holmes
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? I'd have to say Jose Vera, He was cheap, got on base and had power. You can't ask for much more than that.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be? David Peters. $17m a year for a player of that caliber for 5 years is a dream. Pretty bummed that he's in my division to be honest.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you? Something that was brought to my attention in trade talks this offseason, check to make sure you don't accidentally offer a no trade clause to a player when negotiating a contract.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is? Texas over Washington in 6. Houston is still the best team in the PBL but the playoffs are all about who's hot at the end and goes on a run and my crystal ball says Texas.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors?Started fast, finished so-so. I am truly hoping we take another step this season. 2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?Resist spending any money and instead have faith in development. 3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why?Runs Against. I believe our pitching is ahead of our offense. If we can cut back on runs given up, maybe that will be enough to produce more in the "+" column. 4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back?Nobody. We live on the edge! It's the lower edge, but it's an edge. 5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be?David Peters in AZ looks like he would have a decent chance to crack our lineup? Possibly? 6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you?I see what you did there. No, then it would help them. 7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is?It will at least go four games. Houston beats San Diego.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors?
My expectations were pretty low overall. We were coming off our 1st sub-.500 season in a long time, weren't getting much younger and didn't really add anyone of note in the offseason. And the other teams in the East continue to improve. 2060 seemed to be repeating at the start of the season, but by the end of the season, we had pulled pretty far ahead and comfortably in 1st place. What got us there was some luck, in that I had almost no major injuries. Also, my bullpen, which is always questionable, put together a more respectable season. Some breakout seasons by young players in the lineup helped a lot too, with 2B Pete Hale and CF Mark Reed. Having Francisco Rivera starting everything 4th or 5th game doesn't hurt either.
That one bump in the road in 2060 is notable in that it netted me a lucky draw in the draft, which then gave me the top prospect in the PBL with 3B Bill McBryde.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
Cobble together enough to keep on trying to keep the Mets, Pirates and Expos at bay for one more season. The age and composition of my team always makes me feel like a house of cards that could crumble at any time. I really wanted to improve the back end of my rotation, which has been thin and week. Also needed a new SS, as longtime Philly Dan Ivany finally departed after 15 seasons as our starting SS.
Overall, felt like I really accomplished them. I'm really happy with our 1 through 4 in the rotation with the signing of SP Tommy Groves. Got a hopefully okay arm at #5 with veteran Carlos Rubio.
Signed Seth Alexander to likely be our new starting shortstop. An okay bat and defense, should average and at least not a net drain drain on either side of the ball. Basically what Ivany gave us for 15 years.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why?
Sadly, I think our OBP will take a hit. The past few seasons I've been hoarding 9 or 10 eye players and trying to make other teams burn through pitchers as much as possible. But with the mid season trade of Dan Turner last year, and then the loss of Ivany, and our former leadoff hitter, the aging OF Yoshitsune Ohara moving to the bench, our BB totals will likely be down. Overall, on paper my offense should be as good, but I'll miss grinding opposing teams pitching down. For comparison, 6 of our 9 batters against RHP have at least an 8 eye. Last season it was 8 out of 9.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back?
I'll miss the aforementioned Dan Ivany the most. He's been a dependable starting SS for us for so many years. Great defense and a lot of walks, one of my favorite combos. Would've been open to bringing him back, but he was asking something like 5M/yr over 5 years at age 37.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be?
Given our budget situation and needs, a young guy on league minimum like SS Jose Garcia would be who I'd want.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you?
Not that I know of...
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is?

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors? Our season was pretty set in the dying embers of 2060 when Gilberto Vasquez ruptured his elbow ligament and so was lost for all of 2061. To lose your ace on a thin rotation in any event was a massive blow and with a lot of $ tied up in Vasquez and Sato we had little financial scope to replace them. So our expectations were low and so it proved. A nice little finish and another MVP season from Sato saw us end up with 76 wins but we were never in contention.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? The goals were determined by our owner who slashed the budget meaning we had so little financial flexibility we had to trade Vasquez even if it meant him going to divisional rivals, Colorado. This did net us back (after some Rule 5 mix up on my part) with Jose Tovar who should make an appearance shortly in the bigs. I would have loved to try and buy in some better offensive help but this was not to be.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why? I suspect we're largely going to see a repeat of last season in honesty as the pitching is still thin although help is coming from the farm but that's at least a season away in large part. We'll miss perennial gold glover Paul Hoffma and whilst our defense (in the form of ZR) will still be relatively strong I think it may take a step back from prior seasons.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? Paul Hoffma - solid doubles contributor and a wizz with the glove.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be? The key part here is "with the contract intact". So with our parlous finances it has to be a cheap, controlled starting pitcher who could just slot in as a number 1 or 2 in our rotation. So I'd probably go with Shane Sandoval of the Astros.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you? I've found the ability to customise the stats settings to be very useful. There are a lot more available than the default settings so don't be afraid to look at those.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is? Washington over Houston in 6.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors? Our expectations going into last season were to at least be playing important games in September. The Yankees exceeded that by winning the AL East by 12 games! The biggest contributing factor to that was the continuous improvement of Fernando Cruz through out the season. The high priced International Free Agent started slow, but got better as the season progressed and by the time we hit autumn he was a solidifying force at the top of the rotation.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? I had two goals this off season. 1. Add a solid pitcher to the starting rotation and 2. Acquire a lead off hitter to replace the retiring Orlando Garcia. We were able to swing a deal with the Rangers to bring Roy Pike to the Bronx, so I feel we did accomplish our first goal. However we couldn't match up on money or return on numerous lead off options either in free agency or the trade market. So for at least the time being this was a failure.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why? Orlando Garcia's success at age 39 was a major surprise and his retirement at the end of the season was a huge blow. His productivity at the top of the lineup will be missed and will seriously impact our On base Percentage and ability to score runs.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? The aforementioned Garcia will be greatly missed. Otherwise the Yankees have brought back just about everybody from last year's squad.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be? He is expensive but I would love to have Kenzaburo Sato patrolling centerfield for the Yanks with Miguel Angel Andrade being a close second choice.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you? Take the time to make sure your individual Player Strategies match up to your player's strengths and weakness. Great base stealer? Make sure he is running aggressive and has the frequent green light. High bunt for hit? Move that setting up. Just don't forget to change the strategy mode to "Override Team Strategy Settings"
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is? After breaking through last season I expect Tampa Bay to defend their title with a World Series win over the Nationals

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors?
I reject the presumption that I have the slightest clue what is going on.
Cleveland under-performed in 2059 and 2060. Last season the team was projected to finish 81-81. We did play .500 ball in 2061 but it wasn't easy. It took a complete collapse after the All-Star break to do it.
At least I know what the key factor was: our pitching staff had a remarkable ability to hit the other teams' bats.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? I wanted our pitchers less able to give up runs and to make the defense better. Did I accomplish that? See response #1.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why? Cleveland was near the top of the league in home runs because of rookie 1B/OF Clayton Williams, who led PBL with 52. If Williams crushes the ball like that for 19 more seasons he can be the next Duane Hansen. I don't expect that to happen, but Clayton would be 46 so he's on track.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? We didn't lose anyone we didn't replace with someone at least as good. But see response to #1.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be? I'd take Oakland's SP Guillermo Hernandez. He comes off of arbitration in three years, but in three years Cleveland should be in a position to make Guillermo a happy camper. 6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you? I had hoped Dave_Expos was going to tip his hand, but no luck.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is? This could be Oakland's year, but I've thought that for three years. So Texas over Arizona in 5.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors? A few of the hitters really did not hit. Vargas/Lopez had disappointing seasons. You have very little margin of error with a smaller budget than most teams.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? We wanted to accomplish getting a star and ended up with minor league contracts.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why? I think HR will go down as there seems to be more pitching talent in the past drafts.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? No one really. We have a very retainable squad. Brandon Browning wanted to move on.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be? Any hitter difference maker is what we are trying to acquire or sign. We aren't picky at the moment.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you? I think you have to realize that free agency sometimes requires a lot of patience and persistence. Oh...and a big budget.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is? Nationals vs Rangers with the Rangers taking it.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors?52 wins in 2060 was pretty much rock bottom. The team bounced back to 65 wins as expected. The emergence of a pair of young batters (Kent Young and Jason Gilbert) was probably the biggest upswing. Millard Valdez proving that he could be a dependable every 5th day starter to bring an ounce of consistency to the rotation was certainly helpful too. 2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? While some teams were having fun playing in October we had the opportunity to take inventory. We quickly realized we were positioned to go into next season virtually without a rotation. The biggest goal of the off season was to secure some cheap veteran starting pitching. "Cheap" eliminated the Free Agency option so we ended up trading a few specs and draft picks for 3 bodies that could help bridge the gap to when the starters in the farm are ready. Fingers crossed that Goode, Elliot and Hollis can all post reasonable FIP and keep us competitive. We also hoped to find a 3B for a single season while Koudelka marinates in AAA. We struck out on those efforts though so we are either going to have to hold our noses and let waiver claim Luis Miguel Herrera on the field or bring up Koudelka early. 3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why?We are hoping for a significant bump in team OPS provided by rookie super duo (C) Curt Powell and (SS) Eliot Bernard. It is probably over optimistic to expect a pair of rookies to have immediate impact but everything points to these two potential studs being ready for the show and both step into positions that provided very little production last season. 4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? The least of our worries was being able to bring back everyone worth bringing back. The trouble was finding enough talent worthy of bringing back. We did not lose anyone we'll miss. 5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be?I know money is an issue but I'm pretty sure I could figure out how to scrape together $18M to have Zg Odhiambo locked up for the next 8 seasons. Besides, how often do you get to start a guy with no vowels in his first name? 6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you?As a commissioner it helps a ton when everyone pays close attention to their DFA screen . As a GM I'd say that I have observed when evaluating players stats do matter over ratings, but only when the ratings are better. If the ratings don't support the stats it's usually a matter of time before the stats crash. When the stats don't match up to ratings over a significant sampling I trust the stats. 7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is?Washington over Oakland in 7.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors?
I expected to be at our usual level of 2nd-4th best team in the NL. Instead the rotation finally fell into place, we ran a little hot, and ended up at 111-51, which was the best regular season I've had by a decent margin. Then we shit the bed in the playoffs yet again.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
Our goals were to improve the bullpen and sell off excess to improve the farm system. It was a partial success on both counts. The free agent RP crop was pretty week, but we hit on Felipe Torres to boost our middle relief...oh...out for 7 weeks you say...ok nevermind. On the farm side of things we moved our third C and a solid platoon bat for a couple of top 200ish prospects and picks to help reload for the future. Both players we gave up were pretty good, but I think we can backfill from within reasonably well.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why?
Wins just because 111 is insanely good for a team that's just really good.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back?
1B/OF Fransisco Martinez was the platoon bat I mentioned, and while he had a weirdly bad 2061, he was pretty productive in the two years before that and is still only 25. I do think we can fill that position from within, but since he went to San Diego he'll end up as series MVP against us in the inevitable playoff loss against them.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be?
Alonso Castillo fills my biggest needs on offense (CF/leadoff) and is still under team control for a while, so I'll go with him.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you?
One I didn't figure out for a few seasons was that you can adjust your ticket prices weekly, which may (or may not) help you increase revenue. Not that I encourage being a rent-seeking bastard in real life.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is?
San Diego is going to beat me in the playoffs if we meet, so logically they're most likely to make in on the NL side. I'll take Houston over them in 5.

4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back?
1B Dane Juguericia - HATED losing him. Just wasn’t in the cards and we wish him well in Pitt.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be?
SP Dan Gallaghe - so jelly

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors?I was kind of surprised that we won as many games as we did, based on how some series/streaks went, but I was even more surprised by our complete annihilation at the hands of the DBacks. 2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? With Jim King on the decline and practicing his golf swing more now, I wanted to add another name to the rotation and we did sign James Keith, but he's probably not going to have the same impact in the starting 5. More than likely, I will have to perfect the opener/follower strategy this season. Secondly, I wanted to further strengthen our platoon squad which landed us Roberto Snyder at 1B and Francisco Martinez in the OF. Trouble is their positions weren't our weak spots, but on the bright side, both are ample replacements for when Ivan Gomez and John Howe retire. 3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why?Based on spring training, the batting average of the team might be way down. Otherwise, team ERA will almost definitely go up with no more big names in the starting 5. 4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back?I let Joseph Farr and Travis Olson go because they were asking for a lot of money, but also because I had an up and coming 2B in AAA ready for the big leagues. Of course he has had an abysmal spring training and I kind of wish I had a reliable veteran now. Instead I'll be making a tough decision on opening day to go with the unproven rookie with good upside or some rule V mixing and matching. 5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be?SS has been a tough position for us to fill for a long time and Jose Garcia would settle my worries for the position. 6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you?Mark mentioned it above, but custom screens and drop down filters make roster management much easier. In fact, when I switched PCs this offseason, one of the things I had to do before giving up the old PC was to make sure I copied over my saved filters! 7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is?I love Washington and we won't meet them in the playoffs so they are going to take it vs. Houston.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors? I really thought we would play closer to .500 ball than we did. The young pitching just didn't develop enough. Hitting was a pleasant surprise,
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? I wanted to sign a couple of high profile players to contracts but, it just didn't pan out. I don't blame the players I was after. Who would want to play for a perennial loser.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why? This year it was going to be pitching. But, with SP Louis Fernyhough out for basically the whole season, I don't see that happening. I know one player doesn't make a difference, but he was most likely going to be special this season.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? 3B Orlando Gonzalez.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be? SS Vern Gordon from Minnesota. He is what Robert Herman should have been minus the power.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you? Team Home Screen-->Players-->Minor Leagues...being able to sort your Rule V draft eligible has been a life saver.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is? I think Washington will avenge their loss To Tampa Bay in 6.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors?
Our pitching was better than the year prior, but nothing more significant that eating innings for the most part. The team overall improved the season win total by two games, but is in danger of hovering around the .500 mark and not in the playoffs (quite possibly the worst area to be in for more than two seasons). Our games back of Milwaukee improved from 27 to 23 though, so we'll see how much of a dent can be made into that mark. 3rd or 4th in offense in the NL was a solid improvement, and some internal upgrades to the rotation makes me think that a playoff birth is at play this year, most likely as a wildcard. Will that be because of other teams regressing or the Reds improving? I really don't care.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
Don't block emerging prospects, add a defensive catcher that can hit LHP, and add a cheap bat.
Check, check, and check.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why?
Wins. I'm expecting further improvements to the rotation, which will also not overuse the bullpen. If the offense can do what it did last year, then that alone should lead to more wins.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back?
We had the opportunity to bring back catcher Rob Small, but didn't want to commit funds multiple years when we had Bill Stevens ready waiting for a chance. Thankfully Stevens is also a Captain, so hopefully he can fill Small's shoes.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be?
Boston SS Jose Garcia is the type of player you can build a franchise around. He has the potential to do it all for a team on both offense and defense.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you?
I probably sound like a broken record, but take the type to figure out how you want to build a team. Once you do that, stay the course. Baseball isn't like other sports where you can just go worst to the playoffs in a season relatively easy. That being said, when the opportunity is there to take the next step, go for it. Missing that final piece can delay future success.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is?
Houston/Washington, with the Astros winning in 6.

1. Review your squads 2061 performance to compared to expectations. What were the key factors? Well, we came up short of expectations, but we were just beat by a better team by Tampa. Angel Chavez imploded, but we expect him to rebound. Our young bats went quiet in the playoffs too, so hopefully we can get them young ones to bounce back, if we get back in the post season.
2. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? Just to keep as much of the team as we could together for one more big run with this group of guys. For the most part I think we did keep them together.
3. What team statistic, rating or aspect do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2061 to 2062? Why? Losing Taneda for the season hurts. I expect our runs scored, average, and defense to get worse unless some welcome surprises happen.
4. Who will you miss most from last season's squad that you were not able to bring back? Well, Taneda for sure. He will be dearly missed. We weren't able to bring back Dennis Sims and he was always clutch for us.
5. If you could add any player in the league to your roster with his contract intact who would it be? SP Guillermo Hernandez (OAK). Dude looks he's going to be one of the best for many many years.
6. Do you have any OOTP application Tips and Tricks you think other people might not be aware of that help you? I haven't been able to use it as much lately, but the "trade log". You can see if there are certain types of players that other GMs typically like more than others.
7. Your 2062 World Series prediction is? Washington Nationals beat Tampa Bay in 6.
