1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
I mean, I won a World Series, so I'd say that they over-performed. Don't get me wrong; they performed exactly as designed. My redundancy allowed me to lose Jorge Salazar without it hurting too much, my super-rotation murdered the playoffs and my monster closers didn't blow a single lead for the entire postseason. That said, even Mariano Rivera blows saves. I think that I was the best team in the PBL last year, but I still got plenty lucky.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
If by "young" you mean "new" Luis Hernandez is going to make his major league debut at third for me. I'm very excited.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
That I took the team that won the World Series and added Luis Hernandez and Jaime Mejia while losing . . . nobody. So my team is arguably even better than it was last year. And it was plenty good last year.
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
That I really didn't need to go all-in with Mejia, given that my team was already awesome. And that I risk financial ruin by bringing on too many young studs who need too much money before my financial base can support it.
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
I have a bias toward Raul Ferrer. No good reason.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
Not yet. But I hope to crank out my preseason forecasts in the next few days, so ask me then!
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
Major League. I know it's a comedy, but I freaking love that movie.
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
2035 I think. I ran Oakland through 2047 and then jumped ship for a challenge with Milwaukee.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
The easy answer is winning a World Series. That was a pretty great moment. But you know? It was landing Orlando Perez. I'd been circling the Diamondbacks for a while, knowing that they'd have to sell eventually (they'd fallen from their peak). And he gave me the "I won't move him without a really good offer" challenge. And I brainstormed and I came back with an offer that got his interest and we went back and forth and I finally got the deal. I remember it because I was working a mid and kept dashing into the back of house to check my phone and keep the dialogue going. And when I landed him I immediately busted into the office and told the other manager way too much about it.
It was the very first time when I'd 1) targeted a player who I correctly reasoned would be available, 2) made an offer strong enough to get attention even though the other GM didn't really want to deal, 3) it was made with component parts I didn't mind losing and 4) pulling it off drove my team into another level of competitiveness.
I've made several trades since, and every one of them was amazing to be part of. And that first one holds a very special place in my heart.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened? They underperformed just slightly - we made the playoffs but were really looking to make it to the series. We had a few injuries late that you just can't replace that late in the year.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
SP George Carter - Left handed pitcher in his second year - he was injured in September that made him miss the playoffs - I am hoping to have about the same year out of him 26 starts, 3.20 ERA 10-6 record - .98 Whip and a 2.6 War - the only concern with him is his stamina drop a point to 5 that is borderline non starter but might have to look into him being a follower.
1B Willard Johnson - got him in a trade with Houston last year - didn't see much time but he was playing behind Wolfe and Honess. I traded for him last year expecting to lose Wolfe and he would be the replacement this year.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
We have replaced or upgrade any weakness from last year - add CF De Kok he will platoon with Powell at CF playing against RHP - He adds some Power with a LHB we needed.
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
We are holding on to good players but don't have any real 5 star players to win a world series with. Its true we have 0 5 Star players on the roster but I believe we have a good balanced team with the only real weakness is Catcher. But I could see fans saying we should package a few players and go after superstar talent.
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
It is 3B Dave Jamison - I have a weak spot for 3b (I played 3b in High School and A little College) but his WAR has been 3.1, 3.2, 5.8, 4.7 the last 4 years - He is very consistent.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
I think Arizona might surprise this year - not sure if they are Championship ready just yet but I could see a 10 - 15 win jump.
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
This is really tough - You have 42, Field of Dreams, Moneyball, Sandlot, Bull Durham, A league of their own, 8 men out, 61, Cobb, For the love of the game (its on the level that tin cup is for golf and the same actor) But my all time favorite and it might have been my 1st baseball movie is "The Natural"
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
It was 7 years a go I believe with the Dodgers - Tim (KC) we worked together and had been playing other non keeper type leagues and he brought me in - I was with the Dodgers for 4-5 season made a world series but need a break left for a year or so came back with the A's then when the Braves opened up want to take on that rebuild.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
I don't have 1 moment - it has to be over achieving the last 2 years with this ball club - we are projected to be .500 but finish close to 100 wins and make the playoffs - Here are my wins totals since taking over the Braves 64, 65, 77, 78, 81, 96, 98 and hoping to break 100 this year. We have been improving each year.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
Truthfully probably above expectations. I inherited the team during the 2056 season which was distinctly middle of the road and with no financial flexibility at all so to lead our division for most of the season thereafter was a bit of a surprise. At the last we got overtaken by the Rockies but we were at least competitive throughout.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
I'm going to name two. We have 3B Mike Dean who we called up late last season following a strong performance at AAA and utility infielder Anadhrishya Venktesh who is also too good to keep down any longer even though he is only 21. Both offer solid contact and strong gap power skills combined with great defense which I love. The only issue is they may compete against each a little for a starting spot.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
That we got ourselves out of the financial straitjacket we were in with over $40m coming off the books in (relatively) dead weight and we also offloaded 65% of the Alex Carras contract (although in truth he was really good last season).
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
That the offense now looks weaker with Carras and Vega gone who carried the team at times last year. Crucially the pitching remains an area of weakness and the team didn't manage to make any moves of note in that area during the offseason. Dreams of a playoff place remain far fetched.
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
It has to be CF Kenzaburo Sato. A complete 5 tool player who can do it all.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
Not sure if it's a surprise or not but I like the look of Arizona.
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
So many! I know it's schmaltzey but I do like Field of Dreams. I also managed to persuade my wife to watch Moneyball which may or may not have had something to do with the fact that Brad Pitt was in it....
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
I joined in the 2056 season just gone so the Angels are my only PBL adventure.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
The moment John Beatty and his $19m contract finally left the roster.

2057 media day
1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
Slightly above. We won 16 more games than the season before. Management is starting to see the plan come together slowly and we’re definitely looking forward to the seasons to come.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
2055 Rule V selection LF Tyler Lumby should have a nice season. A 3+ WAR season is very possible.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
The additions of SP Hal Young, DH Alex Carras, & Mel Wolfe should make the team more competitive and pack the stadium.
We’re in the business of making $$$$ in Az and business should be good. 😎
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
Losing our 1st & 2nd to sign comp players is tough. Critics could say we tried to win too quickly but getting our budget up is priority #1.
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
The HR hitting fool Dave Bennett. A carryover from my CLE days and very happy to have him.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
Det is my sleeper pick.
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
Field of dreams.
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
Oh wow. I think I joined the 2nd or 3rd season. I’ve ran Det, Cubs, CLE, and now AZ.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
Damn this is tough. I was a Vasti fanboy. Following his career from afar was a lot of fun. The dream is to draft or acquire a player like him someday.
We also had a good stretch of winning the ROY award in CLE. Finding those type players is a joy for sure.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened? The expectations, until eventually they aren't, are always moderate. We performed somewhat as expected. I will be as surprised as anyone when we finally break out one season. And we will. 2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?I have half a dozen arms that, should they have a over-achieving year, will allow us to challenge for the post-season. But my one and only off-season acquisition, for several reasons - Fan Fav - Work Ethic - Veteran Leadership - Decent Bat - Cooper Velaquez, will be someone on which this team will lean heavily. We also have a young, solid catcher with the Captain quality that we hope to develop into a Montreal Expo for life to capitalize on those qualities for some time.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?"You know what, this team may actually be better!" 4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?"So, approximately when will this development process start to pay dividends?" 5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster? At the moment, 1B Chris McCray. 2047 drafted #27 overall, but for whatever reason was waived in 2053. Because we always seem to be in a position to mine the waiver wire, we secured him in June. His 6 power turned into hi max 8 power shortly after that and because he can field his position too, he is the 1B anchor on this Expos team. If he can produce at a 50 HR/yr pace, without being quite as much an all or nothing bat, he will be a perennial favourite in Montreal. 6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?Us!
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?I love Moneyball, the movie and the book, for not only the baseball, but the business side of things. The Natural is extremely well done. Going to go with "Pride of the Yankees" for the story and the cameos.
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?Arrived 2032 with the Los Angeles Angels just as the draft started. The Angels had the first overall pick that season, which illustrates what I was stepping into. And while I did not actually make the pick, I certainly would have picked Jhoan Brown (a no-brainer, now Hall of Famer). From 2038-2042 I was lucky enough to have a string of five consecutive post-season appearances, including 101 wins in 2040, but was never able to reach the last series of the season. Joined the Expos in 2041 (I like to think that they made me an offer I could not refuse after that 2040 season, to work some magic in Montreal too). The Montreal experience has been one of trying to move the budget needle ever since, punctuated by a division titale, completely out of the blue and with a mere 85 wins, in 2050. 9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
2050. But will easily be surpassed end of some season int he future.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
I'm the first to admit Cleveland outperformed in 2055, but 2056 was a disappointment. The pitching was there but our batters didn't hit jack. This preseason I locked each of them in an 8x8 room with only their bats and a dozen angry hornets. Ricardo Munoz and Zack Duke got stung up pretty bad, but when Joe McGee was through the walls were stenciled with hornets. If that exercise pays off we'll do it again next year, but with more hornets.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
OF Wook-jin Ki. He'll be platooned, but the guy can flat out hit RHP. His addition allows us to get creative with Agustin Colon, who's been getting time at second base.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
He (or she) is probably excited that we extended 3B Joe McGee, SP Carlos Rocha and CL Ramon Rojas, and that we added some offensive depth. Fans are understandably ticked off that, after pocketing $70M, our owner slashed our budget by $40M just in time for free agency, and he gave back $14M after the top free agents were gone. I know Cleveland fans think Mr. Phelps is a jerk, an idiot, a tightwad and a weasel.
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
That if the team had the same budget as last year we'd make a run at the championship. 5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
SP Kip Blue is an amazing talent and an inspiration to the entire team. I love him like a son. I hope he knows that when he considers exercising his option at the end of the season.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
I keep looking for Houston to make a move but the AL South eats its young. I'd trade all Cleveland's draft picks for half of Houston's farm system. (Shane. Call me.)
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
Seriously? Next question.
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
Two years in PBL, both in Cleveland.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
It might have been winning the World Series my first year in the league. It's either that, or giving myself a big raise with the $14M I can't spend on players.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?Definitely below. In another striking example of how wrong I can consistently be, I was excited about the offense and was worried the pitching would hold us back. The pitchers really stepped up their game but the offense struggled and was inconsistent. We were hampered by spotty, batched performances that left us with a very nice run differential but not the record to reflect it. Too many 10+ run explosions and shut outs. It would be nice to see production better distributed this season. 2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
"Youth" is not the strength of this team. I have 4 RV guys that whether they will be on the opening day roster is yet to be determined. I have a 23 year old ok catcher coming up that might see some time. 7 contact 1B John Hinkle is kind of interesting but likely will not get a PBL at bat this season. 3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
If the Marlins are doing anything right it is financial. Growth in revenue and budget has been steady and consistent for 6 seasons. We have progressed from being ranked in the 30s to the low 20s. Hopefully that can facilitate a retool instead of a rebuild soon. 4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
Still doubling down with the short sighted moves huh? You know this all going to crash and burn soon right? 5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
CF Jorge Fuentes is the only solid contributor I have that grew up in the Miami organization. I have managed this team so differently than any other team. My history has always been build from within and keep feeding the pipeline. So it is nice to have one guy in the mix that is a throwback to that managing style. 6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
We have such an incredible influx of new GM talent in PBL. This is the best group I can remember having. Watch for Oakland, Detroit and both Los Angeles franchises to keep moving up the standings. 7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
So many great ones to choose from but this is really a two horse race for me. I love everything about Major League. But ultimately I gotta go with Bull Durham. 8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
Joined in the 2025 season. Took over a wrecked organization in San Diego. Spent 11 seasons there and grew them into a team that won 100 games 5 seasons in a row and won two titles over that run. Bounced to Milwaukee and spent 3 ultimately wasted seasons there. Back to San Diego where I spent 8 seasons undoing the ruin the guy that had come in for 3 seasons inflicted. Then finally turned that Padres team over to Rich and came to Miami in 2047. 9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment? You know the one thing I cannot remember ever being more excited about was when that GD cheap @ss owner of the Padres finally passed away. I had always sworn I was going to outlast him and I did.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
Detroit set a PBL high in wins with 86 as Inagaki had a great deal, Dave Baker arrived, and Felipe Pagan somehow won 19 games.
We were picked in the cellar, so things went rather well. Almost too well likely.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
Outside of Pete Palmer, the Tigers upper level minors was a wasteland. So we acquired talent the old-fashioned way, we stole it. In 2056 Rule V pickup Roberto Castillo went from A- ball to the majors and had a sub 4 ERA the second half of the season. He and SP Jeff Jenkins need to be decent or the Tigers rotation will be a horror show.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
This is the year Greg Thomas hits north of .250 and belts 30 HR's!
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
This is year Greg Thomas hits .195 with 10 HR's!
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
Ramon Sanchez. Signed off the scrap heap and he produced about as much value as one can expect from a 1B with 2 power.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
Oakland
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
Major League, I am an Indians fan.
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
Just last year with Detroit.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
Not trading Dave Baker

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
Under-performed massively. The offense was inept as Kenichi Okada, Jimmy Green and even Sifaks Ben Hassi failed to hit anywhere near their potential.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
Shortstop Michael Campbell is my Starting Shortstop. Looking for a Rookie of the Year season from him.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
Added a little thunder to the lineup with Roberto Serrano and long time nemesis from the Nationals Robin Johnson. Finally we should be able to score some runs.
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
Signing 36 and 38 year old players is really the NOT best way to rebuild. Even I am questioning what the hell I'm doing.
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
Miguel Angel Andrade is a five tool player who needs to progress from solid player to great player.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
The Expos are my pick to show the biggest improvement and be late contention.
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
Bull Durham
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
2039 Off Season and have been with the Warhounds all the way
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment? Getting to Game 7 of 2051 NLCS before losing to the Padres

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened? Mets in 2056 suck big time, we played below expectations...The last 50 games of season we just couldn't hit at all 2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season? Mets are hoping CF Roberto Trujillo & LF Loren Lawrence will step up to the plate and kick ass 3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason? Mets added FA's 3B Paul MacLean & C Darryl Jones, but we will see 4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason? Need to work on our minor league system, I'm 100 yrs old in game....I have zero time to think about the future 5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster? My rule 5 pickup 1B Neil Rodriguez from the Expos, check out his potential, his # are going up big time 6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October? Tigers & Braves are looking good 7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made? Field of Dreams 8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran? I have played for a long time & I have been in a lot of OOTP leagues in the past, the PBL is the best league I ever played in, great commish and the best GM's that knows their baseball... 9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment? Being the Texas Rangers GM and winning over a 100 games in seasons 2012 & 2013

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
It's hard to say this, but the Reds performed above my expectations. That's not necessarily a good thing, considering we weren't trying to perform and a .407 winning percentage is nothing to write home about, but I would've liked to have a higher draft pick coming into this season.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
That's a tough question, especially heading into this season. The Reds have transformed from being one of the oldest teams in the league into one of the youngest. I've tried to add players with potential that can hold down a position today, at a low salary, but that someday can fill a complementary role when I my window opens again.
1B/3B/DH Gong-Sun Bu (acquired via trade during last season), C Corbin Roberts(acquired via trade), 2B Fernando Arias (Rule V), and SS Seth Alexander (acquired via trade) fit that mold offensively. On the pitching side, SP Ricardo Ledesma (Rule V), SP/RP Carlos Chavarria (Rule V), and SP/RP Danny Moreno (acquired via trade) also fit that mold.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
The Reds front office did what it needed to do, and maximized the returns for the remaining talent on the roster. The team is younger, and probably projected to win the same amount of games this season while reducing payroll for the future.
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
YOU TRADED AWAY ALL OF OUR REMAINING TALENT?!
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
There's not a lot of longevity left on the roster, but chicks dig the long ball still right? Guys do too, so with that I present LF Bobby Lott. Lott has a legitimate chance at hitting 50+ HR this season, and that's one of the few things Reds fans have to get excited about with these team. I say that, but I really do expect the offense to not be the weakness of this team. That falls on the pitching side of the house.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
I can't choose just one, but in no particular order Angels, Diamondbacks, Tigers, and Astros are teams that can no longer be overlooked.
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
Being an Iowan, Field of Dreams is always going to hold a special place of meaning for me. Meeting James Earl Jones at the Las Vegas airport as a little kid helps with that too, and leads to another baseball movie I love, Sandlot.
After covering minor league baseball on the side for 8+ years, Bull Durham is my all-time favorite. Definitely watching that tomorrow!
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
I joined at the end of the 2032 regular season, and have been with the Reds since then.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
The easy response was finally winning the final game of the 2047 season, and winning my only World Series title. After putting together strong teams and making the playoffs 14 out of 15 seasons at that point, it was nice to finally get a ring!
That being said, I am looking forward to making new favorite moments in the future! I believe the PBL is in a very strong position as a league, and I can't thank Ron enough for taking over as Commissioner to keep the league going.
When I took over the Reds, there was an opportunity to build up the team but win the division as well due to some teams that were on a downward trend after having some success. At the time, I figured I would try to make a short run and then dive into a full rebuild. That rebuild didn't start until last season, when I fully embraced it. I'm really looking forward to actually building a team from the ground up player wise, which is something I've never been able to do in this league. Yes, I've built a team up but it's been dictated by signing free agents and trading for high level talent. Any successful GM has to have that in their repertoire, but my primary focus now is developing talent internally, and then adding pieces when I can via the former route of acquisition. That, I am most excited for!

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?Below expectations. We went into the season walking tall and feeling confident. We had a good 2 week start and then quickly got knocked around by the bullies of the AL South. Ultimately it wasn't a terrible season, but if we are ever going to see the post season, we are going to have to do a lot better then we did last year. 2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?3B/SS Jose Sanchez. He will start the year in AAA, but we are very excited for his entrance into the PBL. 3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason? Thanks for not giving away our emerging prospects. We can't wait to see them in an Astros uniform! 4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?40 dollars a ticket!!! A jump from 28 dollars a ticket???!!! You have sold only 2/3 of season tickets as normal. You are going to lose a ton of money and your budget will most definitely go down next year. What the hell were you thinking? You claim it was an administration error? Administration error my ass! We will send you packing if you don't lower ticket prices and give us a good team to watch. 5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?Paul Burke. I think that's all that needs to be said about Paul Burke. Paul Burke. 6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?Detroit Tigers. 7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made? The Battered Bastards of Baseball. 8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran? Joined at the beginning which I think was 2009 real time maybe? I ran the Pirates and now the Astros. 9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?Rejoining the league was my favorite moment. I love RPGs, which online ootp ultimately is. Honestly, the PBL has been a real friend to me. I really do appreciate the escape in the PBL universe and playing with all the different and current GMs over the years.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened?
I'd say above during the season considering how bad our defense was that led to an atrocious BABIP. Fortunately the guys found ways to win games, ultimately wining 105. The playoffs were definitely below expectations where Reliver of the Year award winner Melvin Wells blew a two run lead in the 9th inning and then gave up another in extra innings to send us home.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season?
Young players? What's that, we haven't had a young player on the team in 10 years. Trouble is they don't get to keep their youth, as evidenced by the increased number of arthritic cream buckets around the dugout.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason?
We get it, the team can win games, but how many times are you going to only sign utility players only?
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason?
3B has been a weakness for years and the best you could do was Dave Finley???
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster?
Do I have to pick one? There's a bunch of guys over the years who've played hero, workhorse, and stud like Manny Sanchez, Jim King, Angel Solis, Nelson Parker, Kata Okada, but I'm going to go with Antonio Lopez. A holdover from the glory days of catchers, he's still got a starting job at the age of 36 in SD.
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October?
Angels
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made?
I've watched Field of Dreams a bunch as a kid, that and A League of Their Own
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran?
I have to keep track of it in my signature. The game doesn't keep track very well when you take a hiatus. From 2010 - 2023 I was with the Mets and White Sox. Rejoined with the Padres in 2047.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment?
Winning World Series' are the ultimate goal for everyone, but like Shane, deciding to rejoin the league was the best decision I made, and by extension, led to more time in my favorite game.

1. Did your squad perform above or below expectations in 2056? What happened? We won 9 more games in 2056 vs. 2055, and definitely played above my expectations. Any improvement in wins, year over year, will be viewed through the prism of a positive occurrence. Isoruko Takahashi was a pleasant surprise and contributed to our improvement. A player who was with me in the Mets system and claimed off waivers, he gave us 25 bombs, 29 doubles and a 107 OPS+ in 147 games.
2. What young player will have the most impact on your team this season? 24 year old Rule V pickup Jeff Meyer should mash against RHP. A platoon bat, he is a 6/9/7/7/6 hitter and will see 75% of RHP this season. I suspect he will give us some much-needed production. He is also a Captain of men to boot.
3. What would your teams biggest fan say about your offseason? Rome wasn’t built in a day, but the progress from takeover until now is apparent. Our prospect cupboard is filling up with talented youngsters, creating lots of competition in the minor leagues. We had lots of positional battles during Spring Training and expect to have a short leash on production. If you are struggling, you will do it in the minors until you can prove your talent at the PBL level.
4. What would your worst critic say about your offseason? Another pathetic losing season coming up, with nary a winning season in sight. Spend some money already!
5. Who is your favorite player on your MLB roster? I have a rooting interest in 1B Will Ortega. At 26 years old, it’s a longshot at this point that he will develop to his full potential. It was a risk to trade for him and gave up a nice quality SP to get him, among others. But whether he pans out or not, it was the first big move when I moved to take over the Blue Jays and I am rooting like heck for him to fully develop!
6. Are there any surprise teams you predict to be in the mix in October? Don’t look now (Ok, go ahead and look!), but here come the Diamondbacks. Nick is one of the best GMs in this league and has Arizona in a position he will definitely surprise people come October!
7. What is the best Baseball movie ever made? Geez, EVER made? So tough….For different reasons, I love the Major League series…Field of Dreams…The Natural…Moneyball (which I recently re-watched and loved it some more)…The Sandlot….I have made a MOCKERY of the question, but I just CAN’T choose………….
8. When did you join PBL? What teams have you ran? I joined the PBL in the 2026 season, taking over the NY Mets. In 2054, I took over my real-life favorite team, the Blue Jays.
9. To date, what is your favorite PBL moment? I am going to tackle this in a two-fold way: My proudest moment is guiding the Mets to 7 straight 91+ win seasons in a row (including 3 100+ win seasons), with an ALCS Championship appearance, losing to the Dodgers in 6. My favorite PBL moment is taking over my beloved Blue Jays. I gave up a team on the rise to jump-ship, but man it was worth it on so many levels. I am so excited to grow this team into a Championship caliber team and compete in the tough AL!
