I have hinted at it a couple of times and it is time for the big reveal! This season I am going to implement this program to earn rewards for your engagement and participation in the league. I made the decision to implement this without a vote for a couple of reasons. First, I truly believe this is something that will really help a strong league become even stronger. Also I was concerned that people may not like some detail or another and it would get bogged down trying to find a program that would make everyone happy. I ask that we try this for at least a season then next off season it can be removed if it is not popular or modified if certain aspects are not well received.
I want to call out a couple of items that I felt pretty strongly about when putting this together. First you will notice that none of the rewards have anything to do with on field performance. The worst team has every opportunity to earn as many credits as the best. Also, I tried to find a balance where the rewards are worthwhile and people can be excited about them but not so helpful that they can make or break a franchise. Again with the balance I hope this program helps give people incentive to be active but not necessarily push people into posting only to grab the credits.
I am open to other ideas on additional or alternative ways to earn credits. For instance one GM is considering running a prediction contest where GMs can predict the finishing position of each team in each division. Maybe also a bracket style prediction contest for playoffs. Would love to hear other ideas! Just two criteria. Again, can't be related to on field performance and must have something to do with PBL.
The way I have it figured an active GM should be able to accrue approximately 300 credits in a season. That was the number that was used when figuring the cost of rewards.
I did run this by a handful of GMs that have been active in the PBL for a bit and encompassed their feedback into this final (for now heh) version.
So, without further ado I present to you the Paramount Credits Program!
