Best hi-jinks was when Nolan Ryan threw at Robin Ventura. I'm sure you all have seen that one. 50 year old Ryan just beat the snot out of a much younger Ventura.
I love this (this happened on my birthday as a kid, it sticks out). One thing that gets overlooked is how grimy that brawl was in general. That was a pretty crazy fight. Ryan won his duel, but he certainly doesn't look to be having so much fun at 4:11 here when Ventura is choking the shit out of him and dragging him awkwardly to the ground.

Seriously, watch this shit. Gene Lamont, the fucking manager of the White Sox, instigates round 2. Also, look at some of the peacekeepers. Look at that man at 2:36 knowing that if he really wanted to, he could end this shit by himself in about 2 minutes. Rafael Palmeiro just wanting someone to compliment his hair. Ozzie Guillen not swinging because he saved his fake tough guy routine for the reporters. Jose Canseco, where you at?
Everyone on Texas should be pleased that Bo and Frank Thomas didn't wake up in bad moods, and everyone on the White Sox has to know that if this brawl were about 3 years from now, those Rangers would have been roided up enough to actually make Bo have to work for it. You'd need a lot of steroids to win a brawl if Bo Jackson, Frank Thomas, and Tim Raines were all properly motivated.
Wasn't Carlton Fisk still on the White Sox? Who wouldn't pay to watch those two grizzled old vets brawl? Who?!!? Mid 40s Fisk-Ryan would be the best basebrawl ever.
Fun times! Although my view is that Nolan's performance was only a big deal because of his age; that uppercut was the only thing that really landed, he was punching the top of his head. That being said, everything, right down to the umps not ejecting Ryan out of respect, I give this brawl 10 stars.
The greatest ass kicking a pitcher delivered was to another pitcher. Kyle Farnsworth buried Paul Wilson in a shallow grave. youtu.be/WZbG5MPsfYM
This one is almost the Ryan-Ventura brawl, except Farnsworth so thoroughly owns Wilson that the managers shove each other but don't fight, and Kent Mercker makes sure Wilson doesn't go back for another spoonful of punch. Farnsworth with the cockiest grin ever at 1:10. Brawls😀
