Always a risk picking youngsters, but we're so far away and without any signed picks last year, might as well take a chance on developing some long term success in Montreal. With the #4 pick, the Expos select SP Angel SALAS 18. This guy looks incredible, his stats amaze, he allowed 1 earned runs. 2 homers allowed, hahaha.

I wondered if someone would end up with Kennedy! Anyone want to bet on whether or not he's going to get that 9.5 million signing bonus?

I wondered if someone would end up with Kennedy! Anyone want to bet on whether or not he's going to get that 9.5 million signing bonus? Yeah. I am hesitant to say anything about it because I don't want to call anyone out on the boards. But this was an interesting dynamic to the draft this year. You had one guy out there with a giant demand. Like I said in an earlier post in this thread, the in game scout that I generate the auto pick list from never cares about signing bonuses. Kennedy was #2 on the auto pick list. This demand was so far out of balance the player was going to fall waaay down in the draft. It was likely that the first team to time out was going to get Kennedy.

If they can sign him the Brewers may have a great player for years to come.

This was a tough choice! This is a hard draft for me to figure out.
SS Colt Williams is the choice.

I connected with the new Marlins gm briefly. He is not ready to make a pick yet but expressed concern about his teams financial situation. We are going to leap frog one player and give him the top auto pick with a Slot salary request.
Miami gets SP Eduardo Parra.
Reds are on the clock.
