1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
This has been an offseason of networking, transition and evalutation for the Twins. With a solid core of young pitching prospects there is a healthy optimism heading into the current and future seasons.
2. Who is the most important MLB level addition to the team?
Unfortunately there are not many MLB level additions the the 2039 Twins roster. However one of the more promising names is the catcher Rusty Dye. A formere rule 5 draft pick, Dye has spent the last 2 years in the minors developing his bat and has seen a marked improvement in spring training this year. He should make the team as a backup catcher and should also see some playing time as a DH.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
The Twins do not miss former players. We may wish them well on their way out the door, but if they're not on our team anymore, we hope they begin to suck.
4. Do you have any prospects ready to make their mark in the show?
The aforementioned Rusty Dye and flamethrowing righty Haden Mosley are two players that should contribute this year.
5. What team do you consider your biggest rival and why?
The Twins do not have rivals. They only appear to have rivals in order to drive ticket and merch sales. Maybe the Brewers....but we really just want to steal their beer after we win the game.
With regards the the rumored rivalry with the Texas Rangers; 1. The Twins have not traded with Texas because Mr. Boomhour is unintelligible and erratic. Who would trade for a player named "dang ol' Pack Man eatin' Stickland King propane makin' sun-a-gun" !? Mr. Boomhour makes him sound like some kind of propane sanitization accessory. 2. The best players on the Rangers are Brandon Mac-the hack-Namera and Brandon Sellers. The Twins feel as though Mr. Sellers will soon become ice cold and would be better off investing in a high end wine storage/collecting in order to better capitolize on his strongest skill set: his name.
6. Real life question. Who is your favourite current baseball player?
Current stud: Trout Young potential stud: Max Kepler (I am indeed an a hopelessly optemistic Twins fan)
7. Will you win the World series in the next 5 seasons?
The optomist in me says - yes. The pessimist says - no. The realist says - as long as the Rangers don't win, I don't care.
8. How many times a day do you check the PBL forums?
1-2
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
Cleveland in 6 over Pitt.
...with Cleveland combining with the Twins to officially end the Rangers postseason hopes during the week of September 13-18.

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
Our off-season went according to plan. We were able to identify the targets we had in mind and got them. We had specific goals this off-season and that was revamping our bullpen, adding another elite pitcher to join Markus Price and Francisco Perez and keep Mauro Cabrera in a Red Sox uniform.
We feel we improved at close with Dale Boyas coming over from Carolina to replace Randy Spencer. Ken Klingenberg comes from Cincinnati is someone we love. Calvin Hines from the Dodgers is making a return to Boston and feel he can do better this time around and we are excited about Rob Bennett coming from Milwaukeee to be a lefty specialist for us.
Mauro Cabrera is a player we LOVED since his days in Oakland when we were there as GM. Hated him going to the Yankees and he thrived in his first year in Boston and at 34 years old we feel he has some years ahead of him still to be productive. A bottom of the order guy who hit 26 homers and almost 100 RBIs last year and played GREAT defense at shortstop. He was important for us to bring back but after seeing the remaining talent pool we felt he was critical for us.
2. Who is the most important MLB level addition to the team?
Jimmy Smith without a doubt. There aren't many pitchers like him in the entire league let alone someone you can get without giving up the farm system. We were more than willing to lose our first round pick to acquire such a talented player. We feel that our 1-2 can compete with any in the entire league. Arizona (Perez/Pinnock) and Pittsburgh (Barry/Sims) are two that stick out to us but we feel we can compete with that and of course Francisco Perez as our number three makes us very dangerous.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
No doubt about it Sotan Kono. The man has 830 career homers and over 2,300 RBI in his career. At 42 he is still a middle of the lineup guy who had a 5.0 WAR last year. I do think his best days are behind him. 49 homers, 136 RBI two years ago, 34 homers, 104 RBI last year but he did more things last year. More doubles, triples, walks and less strikeouts.
He will be missed dearly but we do feel that Juan Sandoval can give us more than an adequate replacement at the same time.
4. Do you have any prospects ready to make their mark in the show?
I am going to say no based on lack of need and no reason to rush these kids as opposed to lack of talent as was the case in years past.
Offensively, Colm Jones who was just acquired from the Braves is a name that is very intriguing for us and someone I think could play at the ML level sooner than later but I with the landscape of our infield (Liu, Cabrera, Castaneda, Robinson) there just isn't a need to move him quickly. Another prospect I really like a lot and maybe more than others is Alonso Franco. He is more ability than production at the moment but I think he can fast track himself to the majors if he puts the effort in.
Our top prospect is Dave Fields (15th rated spec in PBL) is currently in AAA and could see some time this year. 3 solid pitches, good control and movement but I feel like his stuff could be developed a bit more so I am hesitant to rush him along. Angel Norte is the 60th rated PBL prospect and needs more developing but if he focuses hard enough on the areas of need and we are looking for an arm, he could definitely get a look.
5. What team do you consider your biggest rival and why?
I think it has to be Baltimore at this point. In 2037 we won 96 games while the edged out for division by winning 97 games. Last year they won 103 games and we edged them by winning 104 games. I don't think its a huge rivalry at this point due to the respect both GMs have for one another but on the field these two teams compete hard and battle and are always trying to win now. I think this could be the year the friendy rivalry turns a little edgy as both teams want to stake their claim at being the top dog in the best division in baseball.
Even a little trash talking has begun to creep from Baltimore when announcing our acquisition of Jimmy Smith will not be enough to beat his Orioles.
6. Real life question. Who is your favourite current baseball player?
Diehard Red Sox fan and so of course I have a bias towards a lot of their players but if I had to pick any player to watch it would be Bryce Harper. The guy is simply amazing. Giancarlo Stanton is a close second. Pitching its Clayton Kershaw as when he is on, I haven't seen anyone so dominant since Pedro.
7. Will you win the World series in the next 5 seasons?
I am going to say in the next 5 season we WILL win the World Series..... MORE THAN ONCE.
We operate in Boston to win championships, not rebuild or settle for a good season. We make moves we feel will put us over the edge and if we don't get there then we consider the moves I make to be a failure. We put pressure on us to be the best but that's because we know the feeling of being a champion. 5 times is nice, but we now look at our other hand and its empty and we need to balance this out.
This starts with winning the division so taking down Baltimore is our first step in the next quest.
8. How many times a day do you check the PBL forums?
Do you really want to know? Sadly not as much as I used to either due to work restrictions now but its the first site I visit daily and last I visit at night with many in between. The PBL is my baby!
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
Red Sox over the Pirates in 7.
I got great respect for so many teams but in the NL, Shane will forever be the man until someone proves otherwise. In the AL, the competition is strong but if we don't believe we can win it all then why are we playing?

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
I'm actually thrilled with my offseason. I got a big bump in budget and I used it to fill in a lot of gaps. My rotation is the best it's ever been and I think my lineup will be solid. And I'm not locked in to anything long-term.
2. Who is the most important MLB level addition to the team?
It can't not be Jason Simmons, who looks to anchor my rotation.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
Greg Larmour. What a weird hitter, totally underperformed, but I still miss him.
4. Do you have any prospects ready to make their mark in the show?
Honestly, this is his second year in the majors, but Manuel Kane looks ready to rock. He's an 8/8/5/gb now, and I think he can do some serious damage. If that slider develops and he develops to his peak of 10/8/5/gb . . . he'll be pretty fun to have.
5. What team do you consider your biggest rival and why?
Colorado. Less because they're in my division and more because they are literally evil.
6. Real life question. Who is your favourite current baseball player?
Call me a weirdo, but I have a soft spot for Ichiro.
7. Will you win the World series in the next 5 seasons?
Anything's possible. But I put my odds of that in the 20% range or so. Unless my prospects come on strong I don't see my window as being in the next few.
8. How many times a day do you check the PBL forums?
Once.
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
The same thing that happens every year Pinky. The AL East murders itself, one team emerges like Christopher Lambert in Highlander, then gets murdered by the Pirates. Unrelated, a rejected plot for Highlander 5.

4. Do you have any prospects ready to make their mark in the show?Honestly, this is his second year in the majors, but Manuel Kane looks ready to rock. He's an 8/8/5/gb now, and I think he can do some serious damage. If that slider develops and he develops to his peak of 10/8/5/gb . . . he'll be pretty fun to have. Kane was traded by the Diamondbacks (plus Chalk and a 2nd round pick) for $1 (salary relief) 28 days after he was drafted, in July 2031. He certainly was not the prospect he is now. I'm always amazed (trust me, my deals REALLY look bad when i look back at them) when we see a player rise to the top of their craft with an interesting history of how they got there. Nice deal by the A's to get him in a deal in 2032. The rest could be history, if Kane can reach his potential. Good luck A's!

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
It went pretty much how i thought it would go. Some good players became free agents, and i wasn't able to bring them back. My #1 was bringing back Oriole lifer Mike Preston, which happened.
2. Who is the most important MLB level addition to the team?
New DH Greg Lamour. Very interesting skill set, who probably under performed in Oakland. I'm hoping that a new location clicks with him and he shows that 10 power he has.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
Tony Shelton. I could not come close to matching what he got this year. He's aging, but was a major piece of the offense in Baltimore. I never worried about him. Excellent player
4. Do you have any prospects ready to make their mark in the show?
Prospects? What are those?
5. What team do you consider your biggest rival and why?
Boston. We compete in the best division in baseball, and it seems like we always come up just short. When we play, it seems like we always come up a tad short, and we have met in the playoffs numerous times. We tend to come up short!
6. Real life question. Who is your favourite current baseball player?
I like alot about my current Jays team. Alot of talented likable players in my opinion. The two who stand out as my favourties are Marco Estrada, the best pitcher in baseball noone knows about, and Troy Tulowitzki. I love how Tulo plays and really enjoy watching him.
7. Will you win the World series in the next 5 seasons?
No, my team will continue to break my heart
8. How many times a day do you check the PBL forums?
Multiple. When i wake up, before i go to bed, and a few times in between.
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
Pittsburgh is the champ until someone knocks them off. Thats as far as i go!

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went? Offseason when ok had a lot of moving pieces including an influx of young pitching. I was over the moon about last offseason and the season was a bit of a disappointment so maybe now that I'm feeling iffy ill make a title run lol 2. Who is the most important MLB level addition to the team? Chris Bryant...we missed him last year being injured for 3/4 of the season. That was a huge blow. In terms of most important New-new addition is Kim Nam-Im. Im excited to see what he's got 3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team? Domingo Quintana was a stud well miss him if Kim Nam Im starts poorly 4. Do you have any prospects ready to make their mark in the show? Marlins? Prospects? lol we are 10 years removed from developing a decent prospect lol 5. What team do you consider your biggest rival and why? Braves because i love pissing off Anthony 6. Real life question. 1. In general, how do you think your offseason went? I inherited a Cubs team with awful pitching. My starters had ERAs over 5. I traded for 2 veteran pitchers with good track records to provide a 1-2 punch. I also rebuilt my lineup. Most of the guys from last year are gone. Instead of buying 1 or 2 high priced veteran free agents I focused on young AAA free agents with good numbers. My farm system was a mess but I have begun to rebuild it as well. Looking forward to the draft. With 3 1st round picks and 2 early 2nd rounders I am in a good position to build for the future. 2. Who is the most important MLB level addition to the team? Tied. Jim Lacy and Sal Soto are my two best additions. 3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team? No one. The team that won just 61 games last season was a mess. 4. Do you have any prospects ready to make their mark in the show? Not this season. But the Tennessee Smokies (AA) look stocked. I think these guys will make an impact at AAA next season and be ready for callups middle of next year. Really excited about Jorge "The Tabisco Kid" Amador a 19 yr old RF with good speed. 5. What team do you consider your biggest rival and why? I'm new to the league so I haven't really made any rivals yet but my natural rivals are that other team on the southside of Chicago and the Cardinals. I feel a rivalry coming with the Reds but I'm not close to competing with them yet. 6. Real life question. Who is your favourite current baseball player? I like Javier Baez and Anthony Rizzo. I also really like Ichiro but I haven't had many opportunities to watch him play sadly. 7. Will you win the World series in the next 5 seasons? Yes 8. How many times a day do you check the PBL forums? In the morning and at night and a couple times during the day 9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games.... I think Cleveland over Pitt in 7
